SCENEview is an autonomous handheld crime scene camera and video system for examining evidence. For example, it can be used to photograph and film evidence under visible light, or the IR camera function can better search for and document evidence like blood stains and GSR that can be difficult to see, especially if they are on a darker or patterned background.

SCENEview is also compatible with our modular forensic light source LIGHTcube series to provide a range of light sources from UV to IR and give you the perfect lighting scenario for your evidence. LIGHTcubes further expand your options by allowing you to change lighting conditions to increase contrast better. They also allow you to make proof fluoresce, making material like body fluids, bone fragments, and fibres easier to see so they can be documented and collected.

SCENEview can also be ordered with a secondary light amplifier camera system to increase sensitivity to developers like Luminol.

SCENEview uses a large display to show you a live feed of your scene. It can record both photos and videos with a simple one-click control system.

Different Models with Customization Options

The simplest version, SCENEview SV700 BASIC, comes with a sensitive 5 MPix camera for visible and IR range camera work. The PRO version can be ordered with an even higher resolution 10MPix camera.

In addition to visible spectrum work, the IR feature of the SCENEview systems makes it perfect for looking for evidence such as GSR or blood stains.

SCENEview SV800 (also available in BASIC and PRO versions) has a second camera mounting position equipped with our light amplifier camera, designed to be especially sensitive to light emitted by chemical reagents such as Luminol, Bluestar and Lumiscene. It amplifies this light up to 70000 times, making it easily visible on camera even when it is invisible to the naked eye. Not only does this drastically reduce costs by reducing the amount of reagent needed, but it also reduces the risk of altering and damaging evidence using too much reagent.

Light Amplifying Camera

In addition to the VIS & IR features, SCENEview SV800 is equipped with our light amplifying camera. It can amplify light from reagents used for blood detection like Bluestar and Luminol up to 70000 times, making it easy to see, even when it is too dim to see with the naked eye.

Not only does this drastically reduce costs by reducing the amount of reagent needed, but it also reduces the risk of altering and damaging evidence using too much reagent.

SCENEview can also be equipped with LIGHTcubes and compatible lenses to allow you to see fluorescing evidence, such as bone fragments, body fluids, and fibres.

As these features are often best used in darker scenes, SCENEview models are equipped with a red orientation light to assist your eyes in adapting to the dark quickly and keep you safer while moving around a scene.

Control Concept

Thanks to our innovative design, SCENEview requires no external PC to function. Instead, it is equipped with a fully functional multilingual camera and video system. In addition, stored data can easily be transferred via a USB connection or viewed on the system itself.

If desired, the system can also be connected to external device monitors, USB connections, or LAN connections via the connections on the back of the SCENEview base.

Upgrade Options

We have made SCENEview compatible with our LIGHTcube series for even more flexibility. SCENEview can be equipped with compatible filters to photograph evidence. LIGHTcube modules can be used separately using a setup like one of the highly portable handle systems, or modules can be attached directly to your SCENEview unit with our LIGHTcube adaptor.

You can select the modules you need for specific applications or use modules from a LIGHTcube set that you may already own. In addition, SCENEview models that are not equipped with the module adaptor when ordered initially can always be upgraded later.

LIGHTcube modules expand your applications, allowing you to enhance evidence contrast on complex backgrounds, or make evidence stand out with fluorescence.

DNA Safety

When dealing with biological evidence, the issue of DNA safety and contamination is essential. Therefore, our system surface, controls, and display are designed to be easy to clean and contain no fan units that could disturb evidence or suck in debris that could later contaminate other materials.

Our passive cooling system is also monitored to ensure that the system’s internal temperature remains at a safe operating temperature and doesn’t overheat.
