The BrakeSafe testing unit is our portable brake tester with a built-in printer.

BrakeSafe is suitable for UK MOT test centres, garages, and authorised test facilities worldwide. It is DVSA-approved by the GEA and includes data transfer with the MOT Testing Scheme (MTS).

Compact and easy to operate, it can be used to measure brake efficiency in cars, LGVs (large goods vehicles), HGVs (heavy goods vehicles) and PSVs (public service vehicles). The BrakeSafe also offers an HGV trailer testing mode.

Versatile and user-friendly, it can be used to test different classes of vehicles, making it ideal for organisations carrying out fleet testing and monitoring, MOT centres, and government traffic authorities.

The BrakeSafe measures peak and mean fully developed deceleration quickly and accurately, with an accuracy of better than ±2 %g. It does not need to be connected to the vehicle for standard brake testing. Instead, it can be placed wirelessly inside the vehicle.

This portable tester can be positioned anywhere in the vehicle for standard testing. It is self-levelling and automatically aligns with the vehicle’s direction of travel. This feature makes it quick and easy to use, as precise alignment is unnecessary. This saves time, especially when testing large volumes of vehicles or entire fleets.

The BrakeSafe can also be connected to the brake pedal using a transducer. This setup allows for the measurement of pedal force and delay time.

The instrument features pass and fail lights to show the vehicle’s status quickly. Users can adjust the pass/fail threshold according to their testing needs.

Test data can be printed instantly and saved with details such as date, time, vehicle identifier, and operator ID. The BrakeSafe includes a 2GB SD memory card and 4MB of internal memory. Data can be transferred directly to a PC or later accessed from the card.
